| General information |
Objectives of the Institute:
To provide training and related inputs to develop and augment a class of trained personnel in Footwear
technology and Allied industry in the country. To develop human resources in footwear and Allied Industry by
introduction of advanced training methods and courses, appropriate knowledge and skills to promote rapid growth
of footwear and allied industry in the country. To promote in general and particular the Indian Footwear Industry
to attain international standards of production.

Enrollment for all our in campus training programmes is through direct admission under
academic merit. |

For Full Time Courses : 9. 45 a.m to 5.15 p.m
For Part Time Courses : 5.30 p.m to 7.30 p.m |

Course fee shall be remitted in advance through Crossed demand draft in favour
of The Director, CFTI Payable at Chennai |
| HOSTEL |

The Campus is Self Contained with hostel facilities for boys and girls. |
| CERTIFICATE |

Our 2 year Diploma in Footwear Design & Production is accredited to the Leicester College
of Footwear Technology, for which moderation is done by the moderator from U.K. and the
Diplomas are being issued by them.
Course Certificates for other courses will be awarded to the participants on Successful
Completion of the Course by CFTI, Chennai. |

The Seats for Long Term & Short Term Courses are limited and are available
on first come first Serve basis |

Note : 22.5% Seats are reserved for SC/ST candidates for which no tuition fee will be charged subject to production of
cast certificate, in original from competent authority at time of admission.
(Two Photocopies of caste certificate duly attested by Gazetted Officer is required to be enclosed alongwith application) |

Other Activities:
CFTI conducts Skill development training programmes of rural Footwear/Leather goods artisans of Tamil Nadu
in their locality, under the sponsorship of District Rural Development Agencies (DRDA). These programmes are
being conducted for the past 6 years. The objective of this programme is to develop the Footwear/Leather goods
making skill of the rural artisans at their door step. These programmes have good response among the artisans as
they acquire technical knowledge on material management, cost effective production etc.
CFTI conducts Chappal/Leathergoods/Shoemaking training programmes for women of Tamil Nadu in their
locality, under the sponsorship of Women Development Corporation, Govt. of Tamil Nadu. These programmes
are being conducted for the past 6 years. During the year 2005 the Tamil Nadu Government, understanding the
need for these programmes has allotted the training for Women Self Help Groups of all districts. An action plan
had been prepared and the trainings are being implemented in a phased manner.
Service to the Footwear Industry:
CFTI, through its state of art Machinery provides common facility services to the footwear industries. With the
latest machines the Die-Less Cutting System, Sole mould making plant and the PU Pouring machine expects to
expand the service network to the Industry. Further to this the Ambur Sub-Centre of CFTI caters the service
needs of the Footwear industries of Ambur, Ranipet & Vellore |
